It’s About That Time

Posted in Family,Play by david on the August 30th, 2009

Well its been a bit since I posted anything about what we have been up to.  We have been keeping pretty busy, trying to enjoy family time and the outdoors when the weather actually cooperates.  Enjoying the beech, the playground, the pool, a few fishing trips, etc.  I uploaded a few of August photos which I never posted about, some of the earlier ones are the kids playing in the driveway with chalk, and Summer in her dance outfit – she just joined a dance class, and as far as I can tell, loves it.

We are pretty proud of her, being as shy has she has been, joining a dance class where she is alone with the other kids and the teacher is a pretty big step for her, I would say.

This weekend that passed was a pretty busy one – maybe not tons more busy than others but one I definitely got the most exercise I have had in a long time.  Saturday for lunch we went to the Garlic Festival, then when we got home the kids wanted to go hiking – so I took them on a little hike around Lake Frances, they had a blast – there were lots of breaks to throw rocks in the lake.  After that we headed over to our yearly tradition of the Kielbasa festivial – however that ended fairly sour with a huge downpour of rain.

Today we had a day our beach – just fun and (some) sun with the kids.  We made a pretty big sand castle, played a bit in the water- and I took them on a pretty long boat ride in a rowboat.  This was Summer’s first ride so she was a bit more scared at the begining than Oliver since it was his second.  I have a feeling all that rowing is going to catch up with me tomorrow though.

So thats pretty much it in a nut shell – we will probably continue to enjoy the beach while the weather allows us to, and if not probably the pool.  Swimming has become one of the favorite activies for the whole family now that we have easy access to do so.
